One of the acutest facets of Igor Grechanyk’s artwork – fantastic animals – radiate the power of nature, they are dynamic, full of energy and grace. But the artist makes the inner, mystical part of his fantastic creatures visible, in connection with his own vision and creative style.
“This is plastic that finds it roots in the most ancient human art: people in prehistoric times perceived the world through zoomorphic images transferring features of their ancestors and gods on them. The animals belonged to the higher forces of nature, served as totems of a person and influenced his life. When you get through the veil of time and daily routine you can feel their magic nature”, – Igor says.
Zoomorphic images represent philosophical concepts. In these sculptures as in antique drama powerful archaic images are united with the beauty of subtle curves of ancient Greek plastic – images of Altair cave and contemporary line – creating a unique author’s style.

Igor Grechanyk was born in Kiev, Ukraine and raised in an artistic family. He attended the Republican Art School and later graduated from the State Art Institute in Kiev. He lives and works in Ukraine.
Igor Grechanyk is a member of the National Artists Union of Ukraine, a member of the Society for Art of Imagination, London, UK, a leader of the Creative Association “The Golden Gate”, Kiev, Ukraine, a foreign artist of the Yuehua Painting Academy, Guangzhou, China.
